Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15th, 1996 in Stavanger and known professionally as Aurora or, sometimes, stylized as AURORA is a Norwegian musician and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is released in May of 2015 by Decca Records. It has received a lot of praise from media and bloggers. The singer has released two top-of-the-line covers Half the World Away by the band Oasis to promote a Christmas ad from John Lewis and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole. Katy Perry's support for her song Runaway via a blog post gave the artist some additional recognition. Celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft, and becoming fascinated by its music. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. The Aksnes family encouraged her to not to pursue music solely for fun or to aid in growing, but that she was encouraged to pursue it. As a result, she started writing songs of her own. In addition to Bjork, she cites Leonard Cohen as an influence. When her mother told her that the songs she composed might not be famous for her, rather to help people to realize their own value and impact in our world at large, she started playing them on stage. Piano was her first instrument at the age of six. She started writing music when she turned nine. The family did not be aware of this until she reached the age of fourteen. Aurora's success was never her goal. As she says, she enjoys writing songs. She claims that music is her preferred method of feeling anything.
